Angela Rose's journey in the culinary world began growing up with working in her Grandparents garden in sharing the true southern roots of farm to table to making tortillas with her cousins and always hanging out with her parents while they cooked where she learned the true essence of food and family. Angela's passion for food was nurtured by the warmth of her Afro-Latino heritage where she created a cuisine that not only brought southern soul food to your table but with an added Latin flare.
After studying at the Seattle Culinary Academy, Angela embarked on a diverse culinary career, working in prestigious hotels like the Fairmont Olympic, Thompson, Four Seasons, and Grand Hyatt. Along the way, she not only perfected her culinary skills but also became a mentor, guiding aspiring chefs and sharing her love for cooking.
Angela Rose's culinary journey has been marked by notable achievements, including her tenure as executive chef at the award-winning rooftop Smoke & Mirrors, RowHouse, Perch Rooftop as well as Nordstrom, where she brought her unique Afro Latino flair to each dish. Breaking through the DC culinary scene with her innovative approach, Angela captivated diners with her creative interpretations and bold flavors, earning acclaim and accolades along the way. Angela continues to push culinary boundaries, infusing her dishes with passion and creativity. Her ability to seamlessly blend her Afro Latino heritage with contemporary culinary techniques has set her apart in the industry, making her a force to be reckoned with.
Angela Rose's culinary prowess extends beyond the kitchen in partnering with Foudre Vodka as their VIP chef during the Black Owned Wine and Spirit Festival, host chef for Alizar Vodka events, volunteer and fundraising events with Queer Soup Nights, DC Central Kitchen, Quilisascut Chefs of Color and her impressive performance as a finalist on Food Network's Chopped Spin It To Win It. Her skillful execution and creative flair showcased on the show further solidify her reputation as a dynamic and talented chef. With each challenge she faced, Angela demonstrated her ability to think on her feet and craft innovative dishes that impressed both judges and viewers alike.
